No more will I attempt to struggle through Peter Carey's wordy tosh. In truth, he probably did his best work in the advertising industry while still a young bloke. But now this! As an Australian I find Carey's anti-PEN dribble rather embarrassing. As a member of the civilised world I would have to say, well, ditto:
