Daryl McCann and the Four E's for a Better Bragg (Part One): EDUCATION

The Bragg campaign so far...

The FIRST E:

EDUCATION is compulsory for our children and so it is important Schools do not exploit the obligation of legal compulsion to indoctrinate our children with the latest wokist or politically correct theories coming out of the Disunited States of America. Though not perfect, the Commonwealth of Australia played a useful role in defeating the Kaiserreich on the Western Front in 1918, under the auspices of General John Monash. In the Battles of North Africa, the Kokoda Track, Coral Sea and Milne Bay, we helped defeat Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan. Let us not forget these achievements when we, correctly, acknowledge the trials and tribulations of Indigenous Australians. For instance, South Australia was the first self-governing entity in the world to grant female suffrage. It was, additionally, Australia that insisted that Japan’s post-war constitution should include the right of women to vote. These are just some of the patriotic achievements about which our young people should be made aware. Today, even under the Albanese government, the nation of Australia stands in solidarity with the people of Ukraine in the face of Putin’s War. We should teach our young people to be proud of Australia, notwithstanding the fate of traditional Aboriginal culture. We are not the inheritors of a malevolent ‘white supremacism’. We are the inheritors of Western civilisation.

In retrospect, at least, I have dedicated my adult life to the nuanced pride of being an Australian. I have taught History at Streak Bay Area School (1981), Stuart High School (1982-4), Morphettville High School (1985-92), Immanuel College (1993-97), and Pembroke School (1998 -) with the simple ambition of teaching young people to respect themselves and their admirable inheritance with all its faults. In short, truth is more important than ideology.

If I were to be elected as the representative of Bragg, the electorate in which I have lived since 1998, I would fight against any attack on the self-esteem of our young people with every fibre in my being. The objective of education should be to turn the eye of the soul not to close the mind. For starters, SA Parliament should not prescribe to Schools who they should be allowed to hire on the basis of their PC rectitude.

Family First Party's Daryl McCann contesting the seat of Bragg

This is the link to an excellent article in South Australia's 'Indaily' online  newspaper about the Family First Party and the July 2 by-election, which features all kinds of shenanigans by Labor and the Liberals: "Family First enters the by-election amid Labor backlash
