Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull
PM Rudd has done the right thing: http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-07-29/kevin-rudd-un-secretary-general-bid-endorsed-by-malcolm-turnbull/7671542
It would have been easy to do the PC thing and endorse Kevin Rudd for the position of UN Secretary General but the United Nations is dysfunctional enough as it is. I wrote about this earlier in the year for the ABC's The Drum: http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-02-04/mccann-why-would-we-want-to-inflict-rudd-on-the-un/7138408 If the Labor politicians are so disappointed about PM Turnbull not endorsing Rudd, why did they not sack him mid-term in 2010? Some consistency, please, Labor.
Here is a longer piece I write about the Rudd-Gillard-Rudd era: https://quadrant.org.au/magazine/2013/06/raking-the-ruins-of-the-rudd-gillard-legacy/
Oh, and here is another: https://quadrant.org.au/magazine/2014/07-08/boat-people-brought-rudd-gillard/
